Our Ethos

Lessons4Life is a not for profit company, limited by guarantee, which was formed in April 2017. The company director Allison Middlemas has a background in emergency services and education. In the UK you do not need medical experience to teach first aid, you just need a first aid certificate and a teaching qualification, we believe that this is wrong.
Lessons4Life believe that such a vital lifesaving skill should only be taught by someone who has carried out the techniques taught in real life. All our instructors have previously or are currently working for the Ambulance Service so sessions are based on real life experience. Our First Aid at Work courses are fun and interactive with high ratios of candidates to equipment and lots of hands on practice. This means that learners leave our courses confident that they would be able to give first aid if an emergency situation occurred.
When you book your company or business first aid training courses with Lessons4Life, you're helping fund free emergency first aid training for pupils throughout the Humber region.

ALLISON MIDDLEMAS Director & First Aid Trainer

Having worked as an Emergency Medical Technician for Yorkshire Ambulance Service for many years responding to 999 calls both as part of an Ambulance Crew and as an Ambulance Car Responder, Allison has a great depth of practical experience when dealing with medical and trauma casualties. After leaving the Emergency Services Allison went on to work within Education and is an experienced and effective communicator confident delivering to all age groups.
Since setting up Lessons for Life Allison has delivered cost effective and medically accurate first aid courses to businesses and schools. We pride ourselves on the quality and content of our courses ensuring that each candidate leaves the course as a qualified first aider who is confident when acting in this role.
